A reading, published with its checks still open. A Vigslist translation.
A lord-and-lady litany scrap. A litany naming lord and lady in turn.
Published as a reading. No first-translation claim is made for this piece. The checks that would settle such a claim are named in the notes below and are still open; the wording on this page claims nothing they have not settled.
Museum number: N 2684 — University of Pennsylvania Museum, from Nippur. Old Babylonian. Corpus ID: CDLI P277752; served to OBEL (Old Babylonian Emesal Liturgies), genre "Inana-Dumuzi." Composition: Unidentified. Eight obverse line-ends of an Emesal litany in which the lady (gašan) and the lord (umun) alternate, rejoicing (ḫul₂) is named twice, and one clause nearly closes: the lady … rejoices for her. The reverse serves nothing. Source: OBEL's served interlinear text, fetched and saved by Wave C (). OBEL serves no translation. the witness, doors on the face below. Counting rule used here: a line counts part if a complete verb form or a glossed phrase survives; fragment if only isolated words or traces survive; whole only if a complete clause survives intact. No line counts whole.
Publication check (C3, Oct 22): no edition, translation, or discussion of N 2684 found in the program's tree or in open search under its museum number or CDLI P277752. Doors left on the face: (1) Delnero, SANER 26 (catalogue eyeball outstanding, print-check wave). (2) CDLI's record (P277752) — unread; CDLI is still down. (3) Peterson's unpublished Nippur work — the standing unknown for all OBEL N-material.
Dragon/serpent flag: none. Nothing of the kind is preserved.

8 served line-units: 0 whole · 2 part · 6 fragment · 0 invented. The part-lines are the lordship line (o 3′) and the lady's rejoicing (o 6′) — the one verb form the tablet keeps whole.
A litany's skeleton: the lord, the lady, the lordship, the ladyship, and rejoicing — the Emesal vocabulary of praise reduced to the words that survive at the ends of eight lines. Its interest is the pairing it shares with tonight's VS 10, 142, a Sippar scrap built on the same two words; the gala singers' lord-and-lady alternation was sung in both cities, and both cities left us the same two words of it.
